Scherzo Ensemble is professional development platform for young singers which aims to cultivate a broader spectrum of career paths and employment possibilities in music and the arts. There is often a substantial gap between graduating conservatoire and building a musical career. The Covid-19 pandemic has made things harder as practitioners had to find new ways of delivering performance and teaching. The classical music industry has shrunk, with fewer institutions and organisations providing artistic work, especially for young performers. Our programme helps emerging artists develop a diverse range of professional skills and seeks to instil artistic and managerial confidence when setting out independently for the first time. We believe this focus is necessary to maintain our vibrant cultural sector and we require your generous support to achieve it.
